CONNECTING THROUGH ART: A 3 DAY MASTER WORKSHOP WITH MICHELLE CHARLES

Mindful of these difficult times, the workshop is being offered at a discounted rate of £60 for the 3 sessions. If you are in a position to offer more, the usual fee is £75. Contact meditatio@wccm.org for more information about fees.

This workshop is an invitation to be creative! It is for everyone. The artist Michelle Charles will work with you to support and develop your innate creativity through the medium of drawing, photography and mixed media.

FRIDAY 26- SUNDAY 28 MARCH FROM 2.30 - 5.00 PM The spaces on this workshop are limited so please enrol by Monday 15 March to ensure a place.

Each day we will meet online between 2.30 -5.00 pm to explore the themes of INSPIRATION AND CONNECTIVITY. Where does inspiration come from? How do we access our creativity? Where do ideas come from? How do artists work? We will rediscover (perhaps) our own creativity in a nurturing and non judgemental environment and explore ways to make connections through art.

The structure and basics:

Every session will be will be live and interactive integrating lectures, meditation, mindful walking and practical drawing skills that will enable you to draw objects in your home and in nature.  You will be given projects to develop themes and ideas and inspiration to go out and explore your environment during the rest of your time ‘offline’. At the beginning and end of each  session, Michelle will host group discussions regarding the work and what interests you.

Materials:

All you will need is a pen, pencils and paper (and a digital camera or a phone that has a camera). If you already have materials you would like to use, you can bring them along too. After enrolment you will receive a basic list (no need to go out and buy things unless you want to).

What we promise:

We promise fun; a three-day holiday with the authentic you and a first-rate artistic refuge.  A space where you can come to connect with yourself and others and be inspired. A confidence-building and nurturing environment with personal feedback sessions every day and the opportunity to exhibit in an online exhibition if you choose to do so.

“Art is not about being great, good or the best- it is about being human and being human means that we are not perfect. The people who insist that there is one standard and one notion of what art is are not the people we need to help us open up our worlds to inspiration and creativity...”   Michelle Charles
